Social Development department reiterates dedication to bettering SASSA services

Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her aid and dedication to bettering South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) companies through an engagement using the agency's senior professionals in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.

Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric exams.

Of the 724 156 full-time learners who registered with the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% in the registered pupils during the instruction sector.

These learners attained a commendable pass rate of 86%.

"This indicates that the investment government is earning from the lives of weak and susceptible small children is yielding a beneficial effects in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe mentioned.

Reflecting on recent achievements, the Minister highlighted critical milestones and ongoing priorities. She dedicated to urgently addressing the issue of everlasting leadership appointments as well as lack of personnel at sassa grant payment dates most community offices.
